Ten types of poems are mentioned as under:


1. Sonnet:


A 14-line poem with a specific rhyme scheme and meter, often exploring themes of love or nature. The Shakespearean (or English) sonnet and the Petrarchan (or Italian) sonnet are popular forms.


2. Haiku:


A traditional Japanese form with three lines, typically structured in a 5-7-5 syllable pattern, often focusing on nature.


3. Limerick:


A humorous five-line poem with a specific meter and rhyme scheme (AABBA).


4. Free Verse:


A poem that does not adhere to a specific rhyme scheme or meter, allowing for greater freedom in structure and form.


5. Villanelle:


A 19-line poem with a strict rhyme scheme (ABA ABA ABA ABA ABA ABAA) and a repeating pattern of lines.


6. Ode:


A lyrical poem expressing admiration or praise for a person, object, or concept, often with a formal tone and structure.


7. Elegy:


A reflective poem typically expressing sorrow or lament for someone who has died.


8. Epic:
