Power of Silence

Once upon a time, there lived a humble fisherman by the sea. Every morning, he went out in his small boat to cast his net and bring home fish for his family. One day, his young son, curious and thoughtful, asked him,

"Father, is it good to stay silent, or should we always speak what's on our mind?"

The fisherman smiled but didn't answer right away. Instead, he rowed his boat a little farther into the calm waters and began to throw his net into the sea.

After a while, he pulled the net back up, full of wriggling fish. Some fish had their mouths wide open, gasping, while others remained quiet and still. The fisherman looked at his son and said gently,

"Do you see these fish, my son? The ones that opened their mouths were caught in my net. The ones that kept their mouths closed slipped away safely and are still free in the sea."

The boy thought deeply about his father's words. The fisherman continued,

"Remember, sometimes silence can protect us. Speaking at the wrong time, or saying too much, can lead to trouble. Learn when to speak and when to stay silent that is the true wisdom."

From that day on, the boy understood that silence is not weakness, but strength - a sign of wisdom and self-control.

Moral: Silence is powerful. Those who know when to speak and when to stay silent are truly wise.
