Transformation of sentences

Transformation of sentences means changing (or converting) the words or form of a sentence without changing its meaning (or sense).

Examples of sentence transformations

1. Affirmative to Negative:

Affirmative: "She is coming to the party."

-Negative: "She is not coming to the party."

2. Active to Passive:

-Active: 'The chef cooked a delicious meal."

- Passive: "A delicious meal was cooked by the chef."

3. Direct Speech to Indirect Speech:

-Direct: He said, "I will go to the store."

- Indirect: He said that he would go to the store.

4. Simple to Complex:

- Simple: "He likes pizza."

-Complex: "He likes pizza because it is delicious."

5. Complex to Simple:

- Complex: "Although it was raining, we went for a walk."

-Simple: "We went for a walk despite the rain."
